Based in Santa Rosa Beach, Jonah Allen uses both digital and analogue photography to reflect on Earth’s remaining natural landscapes. Allen’s large-scale color photographs capture rarely seen perspectives of the Gulf Coast. Allen balances sweeping aerial views of the coastline with intimate photographs taken from the surface of the water. His work revolves around interests in abstraction, environmentalism, color, sacred geometry, and landscape – all of which include hydrological elements. Ultimately, he aims to share and respect the sacred places untouched by mass development in our postmodern world.
Allen’s work is currently on view in “DocuFlorida 3” at the PMA. He has exhibited extensively in the Gulf Coast and received special recognition at the 2019 Digital Graffiti in Alys Beach.
